Apples and Oranges
Screwing around with the basic design of a possible series of stainless steel bowls. Unfortunately I didn’t have any apples or oranges around… so the tomato had to stand in to illustrate the point. Ultimately I’m going to need thicker gauge steel, smaller bowl, and a base. With anything like this you have to start somewhere.
#242-244 w/uprights and roofs
Three New Pieces #242-244
One of these will be a commission piece for a customer. The other two will be posted on Etsy, as soon as they are finished. The two yellow roof sections are brass. The other roof will be built from woven copper strips, like a basket. Both metals will turn a blue-green color when treated with patina. These all still need more metal ‘twigs’. I’m also going to experiment with one or two of the uprights, making them out of woven metal rods for a more natural feel.

New Work – Sculptural Bird Feeders #240 – 242
Older Work – posted for a reference
Work in Progress #240 – 242
These three pieces were just “stained” with a thin coat of yellow enamel. When they are treated with patina the remaining exposed areas will turn a rust orange. No roofs on these, as I wanted to keep them simple.
